Vienna, Austria

Unfortunately, the camera stayed in the bag for most of Vienna, as we spent most of our time at the Schonbrunn Palace Zoo, in charming cafes, and in the hotel swimming pool. Here's one photo just to prove we were there (Vienna Rathaus).

Boleslawiec, Poland

Boleslawiec, the land of Polish pottery was just a short three hour drive from Prague, so Matthew and I volunteered for the expedition while Anthony, Brooke and Andrew toured Prague. We went a little crazy and this is what we came back with:

Prague, Czech Republic

Our first stop on our Christmas road trip was the beautiful city of Prague. We walked all over the old town, crossed the Charles Bridge, and sword fought all around the Pražský hrad.

Merry Christmas!

Our first Christmas without grandparents, we spent the day relaxing at home, playing with new toys, coloring, and preparing for our big road trip the next day.

Montreux

Today we took a quick trip to Montreux, near the Swiss-French border, to check out the Christmas market and the Château de Chillon. The highlight for Brooke and Andrew was the ancient potty, which drops 30 meters into Lac Léman below. If only we could get them that interested in our potty.

Christmas Tree

As promised, here's a picture of our tree with homemade ornaments. Can you guess where mommy is standing and where the DVD player was placed for this photo?

Our 300 Euro Christmas Tree

We got a Christmas tree! We pulled out the adorable ornaments we spent WAY too much money on in Germany a few months ago (see Rothenburg trip), and in lieu of a star, donned our real cow bell (picked up at a flea market in Zurich this weekend). Then we boxed them all back up again as the new little "toys" proved to be too much of a temptation for our 2-yr-olds (stay tuned for photos of our cheap, unbreakable homemade ornaments).

Sledding in Arosa

We visited our friends, The Jenkins, at their adorable Swiss chalet in Arosa last weekend. We enjoyed sledding, relaxing and good company.

Here's the sledding

...and here's the relaxing

1) The boys lounging slopeside 2) Brooke, exhausted from running laps on the trampoline 3) Andrew double-fisting his newly-discovered treat: snow-dipped suckers 4) Matthew in his new expedition suit & Ashley with Emily's toasty "woolly mammoth" boots.
